HAPPY TRANSIENT BIRTHDAY
Come say happy birthday to Transient Orange on Saturday April 10th at the B-Side. It’s Transient’s second birthday and most of the details are TBA, but stay tuned. If you don’t know Transient, come say hi. Trans O is an Independent network of artists and performers based in Toronto. Keep an eye out for a Trans O monthly zine, bi-weekly residencies, a monthly reading series and some non-profit projects. Oh fuck it, just go to the site, it’s easier:

THE CREEPING SOMEBODIES
Funny story. I’m in the subway and I hear some older folk saying the name “Creeping Nobodies” and laughing. One says to the other “they should be called The Creeping Somebodies” and they continued to laugh. Turns out, a picture of the Creeping Nobodies made it into 24 Hour (the daily commuter trash mag) from the Toronto Is Great!!! all-day show at Cinecycle. The Creeping Somebodies play the Dovercourt House with Wolf Parade and Old Time Relijun on April 3rd. www.creepingnobodies.com.

SHAMELESS MAG: FINAL PRODUCT
You’ve heard about the parties, you’ve attended the fundraisers, you’ve danced your ass off but now you’re all saying, “what is Shameless again?” The magazine will be out in June and from what I’ve read and what I’ve heard it will be great. Keep in mind this is a magazine for teenage girls, but we should all enjoy it anyways. More details about a fun release party in June. www.shamelessmag.com.

DAN BURKE BECOMES A MAN
The CMW showcase featuring Elliott Brood, The Two-Minute Miracles, The Great Lake Swimmers, Jon-Fucking-Rae Fletcher And The River and The Bar Mitzvah Brothers took an odd turn during their set. To understand more, please pick up The Bar Mitzvahs’ new disc and check out track number five, “Show Promoter Dan.” For those who know the very verbose Burke and the eccentric Bar Mitzvahs should have enjoyed seeing Dan “rap” onstage and for being a GREAT SPORT despite parts of the song saying he has no soul. www.danburke.com — OK, he doesn’t have a site, but how funny would that site be if it existed?

WHERE ARE THE HIDDEN CAMERAS HIDING?
In Sweden and Austin. Well, Hidden Cameras band-leader Joel Gibb wasn’t hiding in Austin because he was denied entry by U.S. customs, so the rest of the group got to hang out and see a bunch of other bands play at South by Southwest. As for the Sweden dates, the band played a show in Stockholm attended by over 1200 people. Nine of those people were tagging along for the ride. Aside from Mr. Jonny Dovercourt filling in for regular member Matias Rozenberg on drums and the seven other Canadians, they were also joined by a guest Swedish viola player, two dancing boys, the two promoters, two roadies, a documentary filmmaker and the driver of their big red tour bus. A big red tour bus seems appropriate for the Hidden Cameras, don’t ya think? www.musicismyboyfriend.com

YOU TRY AND RAISE THEM RIGHT BUT EVENTUALLY YOU JUST HAVE TO SEND THEM OFF IN THE REAL WORLD AND HOPE FOR THE BEST:

The following locals and quasi-locals have decided to leave home and rock out (until they run outta money)

I Am Robot And Proud will be on tour this April with his good buddy RandomNumber (from Leeds, UK). Shows will include art galleries, rock clubs and anarchist hovels from Sunny Brantford to Sunnier Virginia. Catch the last tour date at Wavelength on April 18th (which may involve IARAP in some capacity?). www.robotandproud.com.

Wax Mannequin, the self-proclaimed president of indie rock, brings his thoroughly entertaining self all the way across Canada with dates all along the East Coast in April. He’ll be playing shows with Hamilton’s other one-man band singing sensation, Mayor McCa. The Mayor and The President may get lonely drinking all by their lonesome so The Patients (who are good for a beer or 12) will be along for the ride. Tour dates can be found at: www.waxmannequin.com, www.mayormcca.com, www.thepatients.net.

Oshawa ex-pats Cuff The Duke will be playing shows all around Ontario on weekends. Huh? What a practical idea. Every Friday and Saturday in April these four nice lads will be performing everywhere from North Bay to Peterborough. I’ve heard rumours the new album sounds amazing, stay tuned. www.cufftheduke.com.
