WHITE STAR LINE RELEASE S/T!
White Star Line, no longer bunkered down at Andy Magoffin’s House Of Miracles, are set to release their debut on AntiAntenna Recordings (www.antiantenna.com). The 14-song disc will be accompanied by at least 12 dates in Ontario and the Northern States – including the CD release party August 8 at Horseshoe Tavern with local favourites More Plastic and A Northern Chorus. FREE RECORDING FOR NEEDY ARTISTS?
A student at the Harris Institute (Robert Sim) requires, for his final project, a band to record 2-3 songs. This presents a good chance for a needy band to get a recording (albeit a small one) for free. Interested participants should contact Robert at: calahoolie@hotmail.com

KOSHER ROCK RECORDS EXISTS! (EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST ALIVE...)
The Kosher Rock Records ship will officially and ceremoniously be launched on Friday August 9th, 2002 at Sneaky Dee’s with a packed evening of music. Blackeyes kick off the night at 9:30, followed by The Creeping Nobodies at 10:15, Randwiches at 11:00, DDU at 11:45 and Shut-IN at 12:30. DJ Polmo Polpo spins between sets. www.kosherrockrecords.com

CONVERGENCE OF BANDS IN T.O.
Friday, August 9th @ The 360: Vancouver’s The Red Light Sting will take the stage with Femme Fatale, Kill Mannequin and Plant The Bomb. Doors at 9pm; rock at 9:30pm; cover $6; 19+. (TRLS and T.O.’s own FF are hoping to raise enough funds to continue on to Michigan.)

KYTES KLOSES – SHOES FOR WALKING
After taking the heat for doing Nike’s advertising for them by booking a club named after a sneaker, Eric Warner has now seen the far more reputable grassroots all-ages venue KYTES he was booking closed down due to noise complaints. Of course, the sneaker club will close down once it has outlived its usefulness as a walk-in ad. Nike good for the music community? Nike good for any community?

HIGH SCHOOL NEWS… HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPION, THAT IS…
On Saturday, August 24, Christiana releases their second full-length, Fatigue Kills (fifth including releases as Neck and first as a quartet) with a show at Sneaky Dee’s. The disc will be on the band’s own High School Champion label. Visit: www.highschoolchampion.com. And on Thursday, August 8, Bloomington, Indiana’s The Pious Companion plays a solo show at the Victory Cafe, with HSC collective members’ sample/glitch duo The Dioramas.

SADOCEANSPACEBEAR — ATRANCHORELAXO
On August 11 at Rancho Relaxo, sadoceanspacebear will be playing with Denver, Colorado’s Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots. Jay Munly is currently touring supporting his Smooch records release Jimmy Carter Syndrome, a very dark country record. He’s also a songwriter and guitarist in Alternative Tentacles band Slim Cessna’s Auto Club. Doors open at 9:00, with bands Maraca Five-0 and Sparkles opening, followed by Sadoceanspacebear and Munly.
