TRANSCENDENTAL VAUDEVILLE CABARET
Wavelength MC Doc Pickles has teamed up with guerrilla performance poet Mark "Fukermann" Rubinoff and comedienne Amy Pearl to launch a monthly Muppet Show style cabaret night of music, comedy, poetry, and all-around weirdness at the El Mocambo. The launch takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 4 and continues on the first Tuesday of every month thereafter. Dale "Trainwreck" Morningstar, Buddy 1078 and Denise Sherpafeast's The Management, and Nicky Sputnik are among the nine acts performing, as well as performance poets, ass dancers, and DJ Dave Newfeld.

THE FALL TRIBUTE
Derek from No Beat Radio, etc., is organizing "Notebooks out, plagiarists... A tribute to The Fall" on Friday, Sept. 21, at the El Mocambo. Bands include Cool Trout Basement, Delta Marsh + Muli, Doc Pickles, Christiana, Picastro, The Creeping Nobodies, Wayne Omaha, Mecca Normal, Gord Cumming, and The Currently In These United States. The night also marks the first official day of Fall (at midnight!).

SUCTION SHOWCASE
Suction Records - run by "robot pop" artists Solvent and Lowfish - are hosting a label showcase at the Now Lounge on Thursday, Sept. 6. German artist Skanfrom will perform live, as will Lowfish, and Solvent assembles a DJ/minidisc set.
