DEEP DARK UNITED RELEASE ZETTEL
Alex Lukashevsky's wondrous and wicked Deep Dark United will be releasing
a new fifteen-song CD entitled Zettel [Kosher Rock Records]. Thursday,
May 3rd is the official date at Ted's Wrecking Yard. The bill will include
a performance by a band that played Wavelength in April (mysteriously
code-named Descendo so as to remain a surprise for this show) and Shut-IN.
$12 will get you in with a brand new CD.
TETREZENE DIVE INTO
LAKE #5
Lovely space-pop quintet Tetrezene will be celebrating their new Lake
#5 CD with a release party slated for Saturday, May 5th at Ted's. The
CD features three new songs and five remixes of those songs by various
local DJs and scenesters, including Leonard Von Bruggen IV, who spins
at Wavelength on May 13.
RAISING THE BARCODE
Wavelength's Jonny Dovercourt is booking Barcode (downstairs from Ted's)
on a part-time basis. In keeping with the tradition of finding a home
for talented, adventurous and spirited souls (both of local origin, and
far-flung reaches), he has already begun to assemble a solid line-up for
May. On Friday, May 11, check out solo performances by Liz Hyzen (Picastro)
Alex Lukashevsky, (Deep Dark United) and current NYC resident Steve Shiffman
(The 4-Star Movie). Tuesday, May 15, Philadelphia's Winterbrief (who played
Wavelength last year) perform abstract electronic pop with their pal Fingernail.
The Plath opens. Friday, May 18 Citizen Kill (with members of Trigger
Happy and Malhavoc) rock out. The following night, Randwiches (led by
Blackeye's Randy Ray) release their CD What Year, and Currently In These
United States opens. More dates are to follow keep your eye on a hydro
pole near you.
