SOUTHPACIFIC HAVE BROKEN UP!
You've heard it everywhere else. Last month we were the only contrary
voice. We were wrong.
NO BEAT RADIO ON THE
MOVE!
CIUT's Wavelength-affiliated radio show, No Beat Radio, is moving slots
this month. A pre-empted September 8 show means there will only be two
Friday shows (the 1st and 15th). On September 18, No Beat moves to a permanent
Monday slot and expands an hour (10 P.M. to midnight). It is, as always,
located on the frequency of 89.5 FM anywhere within a good few hundred
kilometre radius of Toronto.
NECK BECOMES CHRISTIANA,
RELEASES CD!
Christiana (previously known as Neck) release a new 19-song CD, Hydrofield
of Myth, on an imprint by the name of High School Champion this month.
The release party will occur at Ted's Wrecking Yard Thursday, September
7. Spacecraft 7 and Currently In These United States will be opening up.
SNIPER DISC FINALLY
OUT!
Kid Sniper release their debut CD, a seven song EP entitled Vantage Point,
on Problematic Music, with a release party Friday, September 15 at the
El Mocambo. Special guests are Decoy, Trains & Airplanes (the solo project
of Lee Sheppard from Holding Pattern) and a duo of Kevin Drew & Brendan
Canning, both of whom will be touring Europe as members of Do Make Say
Think later this fall.
THE PLASTIC ON THE
ROAD!
More Plastic are planning a cross-Canada tour, which kicks off in Toronto
on Friday, September 22 at the El Mo. They will head east first, then
double-back and continue westwardly until they run out of either venues
to play, or room to spend on their recently cleared credit cards.
OH SHIT!
The 4-Star Movie have lost their drummer. Andrew Innanen had been handling
the percussive duties in both The 4-Star Movie and More Plastic, but is
reportedly no longer the drummer for 4-Star. He will be taking part in
the More Plastic tour mentioned above. The 4-Star Movie is in limbo at
the present time...
